Shell Nigeria declares second force majeure

ABUJA, August 12, 2016 – A leak on the Nembe Creek Trunk Line has forced Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria to declare force majeure on Bonny Light exports on Friday.

According to a statement, the leak was discovered at 10.00 am local time, upon which pipeline operator Aiteo Group shut the conduit down.

The news comes a mere two days after Shell’s force majeure on gas supplies to Nigeria LNG, also due to a leak. The company has yet to go into detail on the causes of the leaks.
