The oil and gas industry in Nigeria has suffered a host of setbacks in recent months, ranging from strikes and fuel shortages to an uptick in violence. Earlier this week, the Niger Delta Avengers attacked oil and gas infrastructure, taking out well heads and damaging trunklines, affecting the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation and Chevron.
Also on Thursday, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria said it would go ahead with a planned strike, to begin later today, on account of the government’s failure to deliver on its promises of an industry-wide overhaul.
