SLB partners with Cactus on digital drilling solutions

HOUSTON, June 23, 2025 – SLB has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Cactus Drilling to scale the adoption of automated and autonomous drilling technologies, the company said on Monday.

Cactus Drilling will expand its use of SLB’s Precise automated drilling control system by integrating the DrillSync platform and software suite to enhance efficiency and real-time data insights. The partnership also enables the deployment of SLB’s AI-powered DrillOps solution and the Neuro system, which supports autonomous directional drilling and geosteering.

“This collaboration signifies a new chapter in the adoption of SLB’s digital drilling solutions, offering a pathway for scaling intelligent solutions to improve drilling performance and safety,” SLB president of well construction Cecilia Prieto said.

Cactus Drilling president and CEO Josh Simons said the partnership will help deliver “greater value by strengthening the safety, precision and consistency” of operations.

SLB is a global energy technology company providing services and digital solutions across the entire oil and gas lifecycle. It operates in over 100 countries offering reservoir characterisation, drilling, production and processing services.
