Subsea7 wins Total contract in Angola

LUANDA, June 28, 2018 – Subsea7 has won an EPIC contract for Total’s Zinia Phase 2 project, the company announced Thursday.

The work will include the tie-back development of two reservoirs to the existing Pazflor FPSO in Block 17 with the installation of 36 kilometres of flowlines and 21 kilometres of umbilicals. Fabrication will be done at Sonamet’s Lobito yard. The offshore work is set to begin in 2020.

“This award recognises our cost effective engineering solutions and our established local presence in Angola. We look forward to maintaining our long-standing and collaborative relationship with Total through our safe and efficient delivery of the Zinia Phase 2 project,” Subsea 7’s regional vice-president for Africa, Gilles Lafaye, said.

The Zinia field, part of the Pazflor development, is located in Block 17 some 150 kilometres offshore Angola in water depths of up to 1,200 metres. The second phase of the field’s development includes gas-lift and water-injection modifications to the Pazflor FPSO, while the subsea network needs to be upgraded with additional water injection and non-insulated gas-lift lines and subsea tie-ins.
