LONDON, September 17, 2015 – Indian multinational Tata Steel, in conjunction with UK-based BSR Pipeline Services, have announced they will build 53 kilometres of pipeline for Danish player Maersk Oil’s Culzean project located in the UK central North Sea. The pipeline will tie into the existing Central Area Transmission System.

The carbon-steel pipeline will be manufactured at Tata’s Hartlepool pipe mill located in the UK. The project will use over 18,000 tonnes of carbon-steel welded line pipe. BSR Pipeline Services is set to provide the pipe’s coating.

Work is slated to begin in September 2015 and is expected to take 18 months.

Last year, Tata Steel provided more than 55 kilometres of subsea pipeline for engineering, construction and services company Subsea 7 for its operations in the North Sea.
