HOUSTON, April 1, 2024 – Transocean has won a USD 195-million ultra-deepwater drillship contract extension for an unspecified independent operator in the US Gulf of Mexico, the company announced on Monday.

The one-year drilling programme with the Deepwater Asgard is expected to commence in June in direct continuation of the rig’s current programme and includes additional services, the company said.

Transocean did not name the operator but its latest fleet status report listed the vessel as deployed for Hess, Upstream Online reported.

Transocean is a globally active US-based provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells.
