UK’s Cairn to change its name to Capricorn

EDINBURGH, November 5, 2021 – Cairn Energy plans to change its name to Capricorn Energy, the British independent announced on Wednesday.
The change will be effective from December 13, 2021.
The move comes following legislative changes in India that will see the company receive USD 1.06 billion that it had paid in a tax assessment in 2016.
Most of Cairn Energy’s subsidiaries are known under the Capricorn branding.
The company has developments in the North Sea, West Africa, Latin America and India.
Its London Stock Exchange stock ticker will remain CNE.
