WorleyParsons to work on Fortuna Project

MALABO, April 14, 2015 – On Friday, Australian consulting services company WorleyParsons was awarded the provision of engineering and project management services by Ophir Equatorial Guinea, the local subsidiary of UK oil and gas company Ophir Energy, on the Fortuna project in Equatorial Guinea.

The scope of the services provided by WorleyParsons and its deepwater division, INTECSEA, will include evaluating engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning packages and overseeing the front-end engineering and design scopes of the project.

The Australian company will apply its services on block R, a gas development located 140 kilometres southwest of Bioko Island that covers an area of 2,450 square kilometres. The water depths at the block range between 1,400 meters and 1,900 meters.

Ophir Energy and it partners intend to develop the gas reserves at the block by installing a 20 well subsea production that will supply dry gas to a locally moored floating liquefied natural gas facility, which has a capacity of 3 million tonnes per year.
