Angola LNG eyes expansion as gas supply grows
LUANDA, November 8, 2024 – Angola LNG is eyeing expansion options such as a new 3-million-tpy train as its gas supply ramps up, Reuters reported on Friday.
ALNG’s gas supply is set to increase over the next year as key projects come on line. By end-2024, Chevron will boost its deliveries with the launch of the Sanha Lean Gas Connection (SLGC). The SLGC will deliver gas from Block 0’s Sanha field to Soyo power plants and ALNG.
The report cited company official Billy Lacobie as saying Chevron remains committed to boosting Angola’s LNG exports.

The plant has been producing under capacity, with feedstock averaging 19.8 mcm (700 mcf) per day – only around 70% of operating capacity, the report cited government officials as saying.
