BP starts up Egypt gasfield
Egypt “The project, in the North Damietta concession in the East Nile Delta, was delivered seven months ahead of schedule and 33% below the initial cost estimate,” the super-major said in a statement, adding that Phase 1 development had cost about USD 1 billion.
Atoll currently produces 9.91 mcm (350 mcf) of gas per day, allocated to domestic consumption, as well as 10,000 boepd of condensate. BP now produces about 50% of Egypt’s national gas supply, the statement added.
