Chevron, Schlumberger talk Brazil wells

RIO DE JANEIRO, December 15, 2017 – Chevron and Schlumberger are in talks to drill six wells offshore Brazil, international media reported late on Thursday.

Work would start in 2019 in the offshore Campos Basin, two anonymous sources told Reuters. The contract would be worth about USD 20 million and span 18-24 months, the report added.

Chevron’s current production in Brazil averages around 12,500 bopd, down from 36,400 bopd prior to a spill that released around 2,400 barrels of crude into the ocean, triggering protracted litigation.
