COPL acquires Mozambique block

MAPUTO, December 15, 2017 – Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL) announced on Friday that its ShoreCan subsidiary had been awarded Block PT5-B onshore Mozambique.

ShoreCan is jointly owned by COPL and Shoreline Energy International. A PSC for the 4,356-square-kilometre block is expected to be signed in Q1 2018.

“The development in Mozambique through our ShoreCan partnership is an exciting new opportunity for COPL,” said CEO Arthur Millholland. “While exploratory, the onshore block is situated in a hydrocarbon-rich area, located close to two large producing gasfields and an oilfield.”
