DeepOcean wins Equinor marine services contract

OSLO, April 8, 2024 – Equinor and ocean services provider DeepOcean have entered into a frame agreement for subsea intervention and repair for offshore renewables and oil and gasfields, DeepOcean announced on Thursday.
The agreement covers marine services related to pipelines, structures and high-voltage cables and is valid for work on the Norwegian continental shelf and internationally for planned Equinor work and contingency work for PRSI pool members.
The initial duration of the contract is four years, with an option to extend the engagement for up to four additional years. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Work may also include engineering or preparedness studies, as well as the use of remote operated intervention methods. The first call for work under the agreement has been on behalf of Gassco for seabed preparations and complex remote hot tap tie-in operations at three different locations on the Norwegian continental shelf.
“Such a long-term agreement allows us to constantly evolve working methods, collaboration models and technologies, with the objective of making offshore operations and subsea cable repair work as cost-effective as possible,” DeepOcean managing director of European operations Olaf A. Hansen said.
