PGS wins “large” 3D-seismic campaign in Atlantic

OSLO, April 8, 2024 – PGS has won a “large” 3D-seismic campaign in the South Atlantic Margin for a multi-client company, the Norwegian marine geophysics player announced on Monday.

The market where works would take place was unspecified, but the company indicated it was one where “seismic activity offshore is increasing… as a result of recent exploration success.”

A report from Upstream Online identified Namibia and Guyana as likely candidates, noting that PGS’s Ramform Titan was deployed to Namibia last year.

A Ramform Titan-class vessel is scheduled to commence mobilisation in June, with a forecast acquisition duration of up to 300 days, PGS said.

“The combination of the Ramform acquisition platform and our GeoStreamer technology is well suited for large-scale exploration surveys and positioned to deliver strong operational performance over extended time periods,” PGS president and CEO Rune Olav Pedersen said.
