Thailand

BANGKOK, April 10, 2015 – On Wednesday, Australian exploration company Tap Oil provided an update on production and development drilling at the Manora oilfield, located in the Northern Gulf of Thailand.

According to a statement by the company, development of all 11 Manora wells have been completed and the drilling rig moved off site.

Tap Oil has a 30-percent interest in the field, with Thailand’s Northern Gulf Petroleum holding 10 percent and the UAE exploration and production company Mubadala Petroleum, the operator of the field, with a majority stake of 60 percent.

The Manora field is now producing from six wells – MNA 01, MNA 02, MNA 03, MNA 05, MNA 07 and MNA 08 – and expects production at the MNA 11 well to commence before the end of this month.

Production at the MNA 01, MNA 02, MNA 03 and MNA 05 began in November 2014, with MNA 07 and MNA 08 coming online in January and February 2015, respectively. Production at the field is expected to reach a peak rate of 15,000 barrels of oil a day this year.
