First private sector company sells LNG in Brazil

SALVADOR, December 13, 2021 – Excelerate Energy has begun LNG deliveries from the Bahia regasification terminal in Brazil, the American floating LNG company announced on Wednesday.

 

The delivery comes from FSRU Excelerate Sequoia in Salvador, Brazil. The unit has production capacity of 19.8 mcm (700 mcf) per day and storage capacity of 173,000 cubic metres.

Excelerate Energy and state-run Petrobras signed a lease contract in September 2021 for the asset.

The American company has provided LNG services to Petrobras since 2012.
