KKR ups stake in Eni’s Enilive biofuels business to 30%
SAN DONATO MILANESE, February 18, 2025 – Eni and global investment firm KKR have signed an agreement under which KKR will increase its stake in Eni’s Enilive biofuels business through an additional purchase of shares, bringing its total participation to 30%, Eni announced on Tuesday.
KKR had acquired a 25% stake in Enilive in October 2024 in a deal that valued the biofuels company at EUR 11.75 billion. This transaction is based on the same valuation and is expected to close in March 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
Enilive engages in biorefining, biomethane production and smart mobility solutions such as car sharing. The company also markets and distributes fuel through a network of more than 5,000 service stations across Europe.
“KKR’s additional investment confirms the attractiveness of Enilive to the market. Enilive is a solid and growing company with an important financial partner, and it will play a crucial role in reducing emissions generated by the end use of our products,” said Francesco Gattei, Eni’s Chief Transition and Financial Officer.
