ASTANA, September 3, 2014 – National oil company KazMunayGas told a meeting between government officials and investors in Astana that five government assets would be fully or semi-privatised.

The government and the National Welfare Fund ‘Samruk-Kazyna’ have decided to raise revenue and improve efficiency by privatising elements of the energy and transportation sectors.

The units on offer include a 49 percent share of the national maritime company KazMorTransFlot. The decision to sell off reifning and marketing company KMG International, formerly Rompetrol, was also clarified.

Potential buyers of national assets were invited to the conference, said Nurlan Rakhmetov, financial director and member of the board of Samruk-Kazyna.
