Kuwait’s KPC to double tanker fleet

ABU DHABI, April 24, 2018 – Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) aims to more than double its tanker fleet by 2040, reaching a total of 60 vessels.

The announcement was made at the Middle East Petroleum and Gas conference in Abu Dhabi on Monday by KPC CEO Nizar Al Adsani.

 

“To service KPC’s international marketing trade requirements, we will expand our fleet, especially for product carriers,” Adsani told delegates at the conference.

Kuwait’s state-owned oil companies currently own 28 tankers, including 12 designed to transport crude oil, 10 for oil products and four LPG carriers. 

The planned additions include two crude tankers by 2021 and four additional crude tankers by 2040, as well as 11 oil products tankers and an LPG carrier.
