Petrobras brings Búzios field on line

BRASíLIA, April 24, 2018 – Brazilian NOC Petrobras has started up the P-74 FPSO vessel, allowing it to start production from the ultra-deepwater Búzios field, international media reported Monday.

The vessel is situated about 200 kilometres from Río de Janeiro in water depths of 2,000 metres in the Santos Basin. The startup represents the 13th pre-salt platform that Petrobras has brought on line in Brazil’s offshore.

Petrobras has said that four more production units could be installed in the field by 2021, each with a processing capacity of 150,000 bopd and 6 mcm (212 mcf) of gas per day. The next two such platforms are expected to begin producing by the end of 2018, with P-77 installed in 2019.
