McDermott wins Mexico offshore FEED contract
MEXICO CITY, December 3, 2024 – McDermott has won a contract to provide FEED on Repsol’s Polok and Chinwol fields in the Gulf of Mexico, the company announced on Tuesday.
Under the contract scope, the Houston-headquartered company will provide comprehensive FEED services for the project’s engineering, procurement, construction and installation of subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF).
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
“Our extensive experience in subsea engineering and in-house EPCI capabilities uniquely position us to deliver innovative and efficient FEED solutions for Repsol’s development of the Polok and Chinwol fields,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s senior vice-president of subsea and floating facilities.
“We look forward to advancing this project with a strong focus on cost-effectiveness, safety, efficiency and quality delivery.”
The Polok and Chinwol fields are located in Block 29, where Repsol in September bought out Thai player PTTEP’s 16.67% stake. The move increased the Spanish company’s operating interest from 30% to 46.67%.
Other partners in the block include Petronas subsidiary PC Carigali Mexico Operations, which holds 28.33%, and Harbour Energy, which holds 25%.
