Nigeria, China NOCs partner on oilfield services

ABUJA, September 6, 2018 – The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has signed an MoU with the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) to collaborate on oilfield services and R&D, the NOCs announced on Wednesday.

 

The companies agreed to work together to develop the technical expertise to provide oilfield services as well as operate oilfield assets in Nigeria and other countries. As part of the deal, NNPC’s R&D division laboratories in Port Harcourt are to be upgraded.

“With this new chapter opening in the history of CNOOC’s co-operation with the NNPC, we hope to witness many more future collaborations that will be beneficial to both parties,” CNOOC executive vice-chairman Fang Zhi said in a press statement.
