Pemex subsidiary launches FSRU tender

COATZACOALCOS, July 6, 2018 – Mex Gas Supply, a gas marketing subsidiary of NOC Pemex, has opened a tender for an FSRU to be installed at the Port of Pajaritos in Veracruz state, international media reported Thursday.

The company will grant a five-year contract for the design, installation and operation of the facility, which should have a capacity to process up to 17 mcm (600 mcf) of gas per day.

“The objective of the project is to commercialise natural gas in the southeast region of Mexico through the creation of a new import injection point at the Pajaritos marine and storage terminal,” Mex Gas Supply said in a statement.

Interested companies must register for the tender by July 11. The winner is expected to be announced at the end of summer, and should bring the terminal on line within seven months of the award.

Mex Gas Supply also said LNG supply contracts for the FSRU are expected to be published in Q4 2018, and Pemex will be the main client.
