Petronas collaborates for LC02 transport
KUALA LUMPUR, February 9, 2022 – Petronas has signed an MoU with Japanese shipping company Mitsui O.S.K. Lines to develop transport of liquified carbon dioxide, the Malaysian NOC announced today.
The two companies will explore shipping opportunities for the carbon capture, utilisation and storage value chain in Asia Pacific and Oceania.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines will contribute expertise along with Larvik Shipping, one of the few companies qualified to operate liquified carbon dioxide vessels for food-grade carbon dioxide.
The initiative hopes to connect carbon capture, utilisation and storage sites where pipelines are not economically viable.
