Repsol restarts offshore Norwegian field

Norway

OSLO, May 6, 2022 – Repsol has resumed operations at the Yme field offshore Norway after halting production due to a minor oil leak, the Spanish multinational’s partner OKEA announced on Thursday.

The facility was shut down on April 12, 2022.

The leak was identified in a pipe between the wellhead platform and subsea storage tank.

Production will temporarily be transported by tanker vessel Bodil Knudsen, which has a storage capacity of around 1 million barrels of oil.

Production is expected to ramp up during Q3 2022 to meet peak output of 56,000 boepd.

The Yme field is expected to hold around 63 million barrels of recoverable oil reserves.
