Saudi Aramco boosts Jafurah gas reserves by 425 bcm

RIYADH, February 27, 2024 – Saudi Aramco has significantly increased reserves at its Jafurah gasfield following the discovery of an additional 425 bcm (15 tcf) of gas and 2 billion boe of condensate, the company announced Sunday.

 

Following an updated, independently certified evaluation, total proven reserves of the unconventional Jafurah gasfield stand at 6.5 tcm (229 tcf) of gas and 75 billion boe of condensate.

Production at Jafurah is expected to reach 56.6 mcm (2 bcf) of gas per day, 11.8 mcm (418 mcf) of ethane per day and 630,000 boepd of condensate by 2030.

A key component of Aramco’s long-term production strategy, Jafurah is Saudi Arabia’s largest non-oil associated gasfield. Its development is expected to command lifecycle investments exceeding USD 100 billion and create more than 200,000 direct and indirect jobs.
