Saudi Aramco makes oil, gas discoveries
RIYADH, September 1, 2020 – Saudi Aramco has announced the discovery of two hydrocarbons fields in Saudi Arabia.
On Sunday, the country’s energy minister, Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman, announced the discoveries of a gasfield named Hadbat Al Hajarah in the Al Jouf region near the Iraqi border and and oil and gasfield named Abraq Al Tuloul in the Northern Borders region.
The Saudi NOC said it was still assessing the quantities of reserves at the field but gave initial figures for flows from existing wells. Hadbat Al Hajarah is seeing 453,120 cubic metres (16 mcf) per day of gas flows as well as 1,944 boepd of condensates. For its part, Abraq Al Tuloul is seeing daily flows of 3,000 bopd of crude, 49 barrels of condensates and 31,152 cubic metres (1.1 mcf) of gas.
