SBM Offshore sells interest in Brazil-bound FPSO

AMSTERDAM, March 24, 2022 – SBM Offshore has signed a shareholder agreement with Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha for minority stakes of the Alexandre de Gusmão FPSO, the Dutch offshore asset and services company announced on Wednesday.
Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha will each acquire 25% and 20% ownership respectively. SBM Offshore will remain operator with the remaining share.
The FPSO is currently under construction and will be deployed on the offshore Santos Basin in Brazil under a 22-and-a-half-year lease and operate contract.
The intended Mero Unitized field is expected to come on line in 2025.
