Statoil awards Wood Group Brazil deal

RIO DE JANEIRO, September 22, 2015 –

Statoil Brazil has let a contract to Wood Group for operations maintenance at its Peregrino offshore field licence in Brazil.

The four-year contract will cover operations maintenance for the Alpha and Bravo wellhead platforms, as well as modifications for the units and the Peregrino floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

The Norwegian state company holds a 60-percent interest in the Peregrino offshore field development, its largest project outside of the Norwegian Continental Shelf, with China’s Sinochem holding the remaining 40 percent.

A development plan for a $3.5-billion second stage of the project was submitted by the companies to Brazilian authorities earlier in 2015.

Wood Group, a multinational oilfield and energy services company, provided engineering and procurement services for the two platforms.
