Subsea 7 wins Nile Delta contract

CAIRO, October 14, 2015 – Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract of up to $150 million for work on the East Nile Delta Phase 3 Project.
The international offshore energy services company won the contract in a tender held by Pharaonic Petroleum Company.
With a value of between $50 million and $150 million, the contract will cover the installation, engineering, procurement and fabrication of rigid spools as well as the installation of pipeline, umbilical and subsea structures connected to two wells.
Installation is expected to begin before the end of the year following fabrication work at Petrojet’s Egypt yard. Subsea 7 will deploy its Rockwater 2 and Seven Borealis vessels for the project, which will take place at water depths of 80-90 metres.
In July, the company was awarded a $500-million contract by BP and DEA for work on the Taurus and Libra fields offshore Alexandria. Their development is part of the West Nile Delta project.
Pharaonic Petroleum Company is a joint venture between BP and the state-owned Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
