UK adds blocks to mature offshore round

UK

LONDON, August 11, 2017 – The UK’s Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) has added seven blocks to the 30th Offshore Licensing Round launched on July 25, the regulator confirmed to TOGY on Friday.

The OGA had intended to include blocks 110/5, 110/10, 110/16, 110/18, 113/24, 113/29 and 113/30 in the Irish Sea in the original announcement, the regulator added, but was forced to wait for a clarification of the border lines.

With the new additions, the 30th Offshore Licensing Round offers acreage in about 820 mature blocks and part blocks in the North Sea and in the Irish Sea. The round is scheduled to close on November 21, 2017, while decisions are expected in Q2 2018.
