YPF to start work in Bolivia

SANTA CRUZ, July 14, 2016 – Bolivia’s state-owned Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Boliviano (YPFB) has agreed with its Argentine counterpart, YPF, to start exploration and production work in Santa Cruz in the Bolivian Amazon region.

 

Signed late on Wednesday, the agreement will see YPFB and YPF try and unlock some 76.5 bcm (2.7 tcf) across an area of 992,5 square kilometres at an estimated cost of 1.177 billion. The deal was signed by Guillermo Achá, president and CEO of YPFB, and by YPF vice-president for gas and energy Marcos Brown.
