TechnipFMC wins EPCI work for Coral Norte FLNG in Mozambique
MAPUTO, December 19, 2025 – TechnipFMC has secured an EPCI contract from Eni for the Coral Norte gas development in the Area 4 concession in the Rovuma Basin offshore Mozambique, TechnipFMC announced on Thursday.
TechnipFMC will manufacture and install flexible flowlines and risers, as well as install subsea manifolds and umbilicals for the Coral Norte FLNG vessel located offshore Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique. The company indicated that the value of the contract is between USD 250 million and USD 500 million, and will be tallied under Q2 2025 orders.
Following government approval of the project in April 2025, Eni reached a positive FID on the Coral Norte development in October and expects to begin production in 2028 from the Coral Norte FLNG, which is designed with a liquefaction capacity of 3.5 million tonnes per year.
Coral Norte is Eni’s second FLNG project in Mozambique’s Area 4 concession after Coral Sul, for which TechnipFMC was awarded an EPCIC and startup contract in 2017. Coral Sul FLNG began production and exports in 2022.
“We are excited to once again work with Eni and their consortium partners in Mozambique. We will leverage our experience gained from the successful delivery of Coral Sul – the world’s first FLNG project in ultra-deep water – by replicating our proven playbook with an enhanced approach,” said Jonathan Landes, president of subsea for TechnipFMC.
Eni’s partners in the Coral Norte development are China’s CNPC with a 20% interest, Korea’s KOGAS with 10%, Mozambique’s national energy company ENH with 10% and ADNOC’s investment arm XRG with 10%.
