Revenues in 2022: USD 14.4 million

Net profit in 2022: USD 6.9 million

Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) is Mozambique’s national energy company. Operating under the purview of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, ENH engages in the exploration, development and commercialisation of the country’s hydrocarbon resources.

ENH is primarily engaged in upstream activities, including exploration, development, production and marketing of oil and natural gas. The company participates in five natural gas concessions in the Rovuma Basin, both onshore and in the offshore Golfinho/Atum, Rovuma and Coral South fields. Additionally, ENH has a production sharing agreement with the Mozambican government and Sasol in the Mozambique Basin, including the Buzi and Mazenga blocks.

In the midstream segment, ENH has a participating interest in the operating complex for the Pande-Temane conventional gasfield, which accounts for approximately 49% of Mozambique’s daily gas output. Through Companhia Moçambicana de Gasoduto, ENH also holds a 25% interest in the pipeline system linking the Pande-Temane complex to Secunda in South Africa. Developed in conjunction with South African energy company Sasol, the pipeline travels more than 850 kilometres and brings Pande-Temane’s output to a broader market and Sasol’s distribution network.

In the downstream segment, ENH aims to participate across the entirety of the oil and gas value chain, operating integrated distribution networks that supply gas and condensates to residential, commercial and industrial customers, as well as to local operators.
