Aker in Shell contract offshore Norway

Norway

OSLO, August 31, 2017 – Aker Solutions said on Thursday that it had secured a Shell contract for brownfield modifications services and maintenance support at the Draugen offshore platform and Nyhamna gas plant in Norway.

The value of the contract, which runs for four years with options to be extended by up to another seven years, was not disclosed.

“We’re delighted that Shell has once again selected Aker Solutions to be its main contractor for these assets and we look forward to building on our past work together to ensure the continued success of these projects,” Aker CEO Luis Araujo said in a statement.

The Nyhamna plant, which is linked to the Ormen Lange deepwater field, is one of Europe’s largest gas terminals and supplies about 20% of the UK’s gas needs. Both Ormen Lange and the Draugen field are located in the Norwegian Sea.
