GE to build world’s largest 3D printer for offshore wind

ROTTERDAM, September 17, 2021 – GE Renewable Energy has entered a partnership with Fraunhofer IGCV to build the world’s largest 3D printer for offshore wind developments, the American multinational announced on Thursday.

 

The technology is intended to speed up construction of GE’s Haliade-X offshore wind turbine in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The asset will be the world’s largest and most powerful wind turbine, with upwards of 14 MW capacity and a 107-metre blade.
