Nigerian militants threaten ‘zero oil’

The group claimed the government was not making adequate budgetary provisions for the Federal University of Petroleum Resources.
“We the Urhobo Liberation Force, will be ready to return the country to zero oil and gas production and force the country into another recession if adequate provision is not made within this period of the 14 days of our ultimatum.”
The group called on Pandef, an umbrella group of leaders and traditional elders representing militants and other stakeholders in the region, to speak out on the issue. In August 2017, the federal government had agreed with Pandef a series of concessions for Niger Delta residents including modular refineries and funding to clean up environmental damage.
