Ophir in Indonesia gas find

SYDNEY, December 7, 2018 – Ophir Energy has discovered gas in Indonesia, partner Cue Energy Resources announced on Friday.

The Paus Biru-1 well offshore East Java struck about 29 metres of net gas pay, the company statement added.

Ophir holds a 45% interest in the Sampang PSC, where the well was drilled, alongside partners Singapore Petroleum (40%) and Cue (15%).

“This is an excellent result which has been well executed by the operator Ophir Energy and is in line with our pre-drill success case expectations,” said Matthew Boyall, CEO of Cue. “A future development of this resource is expected to provide sales gas volumes as well as extending the life of the existing fields and facilities within the Sampang [PSC].”
