Ørsted granted $580-million loan for green energy

AMSTERDAM, October 1, 2021 – Ørsted has been granted a USD 580-million loan to support renewable energy projects by the European Investment Bank, the Danish multinational power company announced on Wednesday.

 

The money will be used to support the development of the Borssele 1 and 2 offshore wind facility in the Netherlands.

The company inaugurated the 752-MW asset in September, the second largest wind farm in the world at the time. It consists of 94 8-MW wind turbines constructed by Siemens Gamesa.
