Saipem in Angola, Mexico deals

MILAN, December 25, 2017 – Saipem has received several separate contracts, worth a total of USD 380 million, covering work in Angola, Mexico, the Gulf, Kazakhstan, Romania, Argentina and Bolivia.

The deals include expanded EPCI works in the West Hub Development project in Angola and the installation of the CA-KU-A1 platform offshore Mexico, the Italian EPC firm announced on Friday.

The news came as Saipem lost an international arbitration case in an LPG plant dispute with Algeria’s Sonatrach. Saipem will pay Sonatrach USD 135 million for alleged gross negligence, the company said in a separate press release on Friday, adding that it denies the charges.
