Woodside collaborates on AI-enabled solar tech

PASADENA, October 18, 2021 – Woodside Petroleum has partnered with Heliogen to build a 5-MW solar facility enabled by artificial intelligence in California, the Australian energy producer announced today.
The technology will use artificial intelligence to align mirrors to reflect the sun to a single target on the top of a solar tower.
The companies expressed their desire to collaborate beyond the demonstration facility in the US and Australia in integrated renewable energy and hydrogen.
Cost of the project was not disclosed.
