TotalEnergies is one of the world’s major energy producers and marketers. The company is involved in oil, biofuels, natural gas, green gases and renewables. In business for more than a century, TotalEnergies now operates in more than 130 countries. Today, it focuses on a multi-energy strategy to ensure resilience while investing in and meeting the challenges of the energy transition.

TotalEnergies has expertise across many important areas of the energy sector. This expertise is divided into three main areas:

  • Exploration and production: Oil and gas, renewable energy and bioenergy exploration and production
  • Transformation and development: Production and supply of electricity; refining and petrochemical operations; the transformation of oil, gas, biomass and plastic waste into polymers
  • Shipping and marketing: Buying and selling oil and gas; oil and gas shipping

TotalEnergies’ goal is to be net zero by 2050, together with society. To achieve this goal, the company has developed a multi-energy strategy that seeks to transition the current fossil-fuel-based energy system to one that is decarbonised. While doing so, TotalEnergies seeks balanced investments in traditional and low-carbon energies to ensure a just transition. Since 2023, the company publishes financial indicators that demonstrate how it is able to combine profitable growth, sustainable development and shareholder value.
