
Eni and Lukoil in Mexico stake swap
MEXICO CITY , November 6, 2018 – E&P major Eni and Russia’s Lukoil have exchanged participating stakes in three shallow-water Mexican blocks, the Italian company said in a press statement on Tuesday.
Subject to regulatory approval, Eni will take a 40% stake in Lukoil’s Southeastern Basins Area 12, while the Russian company will acquire 20% interests in Southeastern Basins Area 10 and Southeastern Basins Area 14, the latter of which also includes Citla Energy as a partner.
All three blocks were awarded during Mexico’s Round 2.1 in June 2017.
