Nigeria, Angola mull umbilicals co-operation

LUANDA, November 28, 2018 – Nigeria is considering buying umbilicals from Angola and co-operating with the country in the sector, local media reported Tuesday.

“Angola is very developed in umbilical services, and this will help Nigeria and other countries on the continent develop the sector,” Angop quoted Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board general manager Abdulmalik Halilu Fnim as saying.

Braulio de Brito, the chairman of the board of the Association of Service Providers of the Angolan Oil & Gas Industry, welcomed the idea, saying the technology used in Angola would have good results in Nigeria.

Angoflex, a joint venture between Angolan NOC <a href='https://theenergyyear.com/companies-institutions/sonangol/’>Sonangol and Technip, operates an umbilicals factory in Lobito as well as a spoolbase in Dande.
