An integrated energy giant

OQ is the umbrella organisation for all of Oman’s hydrocarbons investments and activities across the the value chain. The company’s branches operate nationally, regionally and globally in sectors such as E&P, refining, chemicals and petrochemicals.

  • New entity: OQ was created with the merging of Oman Oil Company, state refiner Orpic and seven domestic energy players – an integration that began in 2018 and was expected to continue through 2020.
  • Component pieces: the seven firms include upstream player OOCEP, Oman Gas, Duqm Refinery and Petrochemicals Industries, Salalah Methanol, Oman Trading International, oxo intermediates and derivatives producer Oxea and Salalah Liquified Petroleum Gas.
