Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (SNPC) is a public industrial and commercial entity with legal personality and financial autonomy. SNPC serves as the technical arm of the State, holding the database for the oil industry in Congo.

Structured as a Group, SNPC is active throughout the oil industry chain through six subsidiaries involved in upstream and downstream oil sectors, including:

  • SONAREP: National research and production company
  • ILOGS: Integrated logistics services
  • SFP: Petroleum drilling company
  • CORAF: Congolese refining
  • SNPC D: SNPC distribution
  • SNPC Trading

In addition to these, SNPC also has a corporate foundation, the SNPC FOUNDATION.

The company has a 60% stake in the Mengo Kundji Bindi II operating permit, operatorship of Pex Zatchi II, operatorship of Pex Loango II, two contractor consortiums with SONAREP at Pex Zingali II and Pex Loufika Tioni II, a presence in the Le Mayombe oil block and participation in the development of the Zingali, Loufika-Tioni, Kouakouala, and Tilapia blocks.

As of 2022, SNPC’s involvement in the upstream oil sector includes 11 exploration permits, 20 exploitation permits and one field in production.

SNPC has also developed a Gas Master Plan in collaboration with Wood Mackenzie to optimise the utilisation of the country’s 412 bcm (14.5 tcf), metres of in-place gas resources. Moreover, as a key player in the energy transition, SNPC is anticipated to contribute to energy independence, food self-sufficiency, attractiveness of the value chain, carbon credit valorisation, zero environmental impact and job creation and specialised training.

The Performance 2025 Program is a corporate project running from 2022 to 2025, focused on strengthening the growth of SNPC. It outlines the strategic performance objectives to be achieved and the strategies to be implemented to create value and trigger acceleration of SNPC’s growth.
