Mexico building gas import pipeline

MEXICO CITY, October 15, 2014 – Canadian engineering firm, ATCO, last week announced that it had the awarding of a contract by the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a natural gas pipeline near Tula, Mexico in the state of Hidalgo.

The contract comes in response to an increasing demand for natural gas imports that have been difficult to satisfy with existing gas infrastructure in place. The Tula pipeline will transport natural gas 16 kilometres to the Francisco Pérez Rios power plant to provide the facility with increased fuel supply.

ATCO will seek the services of a domestic engineering, procurement and construction firm to provide the project with additional support.
