Noble Energy starts production at Big Bend

USA

HOUSTON, October 29, 2015 – Noble Energy started production earlier this week at the Gulf of Mexico’s Big Ben oil development, according to a Wednesday statement released by the Houston-based oil and gas independent.

Noble anticipates that production at Big Bend will reach a rate of about 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day within the next couple weeks. The company also stated that about 90 percent of the produced volume is oil.

“Big Bend is the first of three major projects planned to come online for us in the Gulf of Mexico over the next nine months, contributing significant oil production and cash flow to the business. Short cycle times to first production, strong well deliverability, and low production costs from our Gulf of Mexico projects deliver attractive returns even in today’s environment,” Gary W. Willingham, Noble Energy executive vice-present of operations, said in the company statement.

Nobel operates the Big Bend development with a 54-percent stake alongside US upstream companies W&T Energy VI (20 percent),  Red Willow Offshore (15.4 percent) and Houston Energy Deepwater Ventures V (10.6 percent).
